ISLAND ON FLOOD ALERT AS MORE HEAVY RAIN ON THE WAY

A flash flood warning for heavy rain on the island has been issued by The Met Office.

Flood warnings have been issued for the all parts of the Isle of wight as more heavy rain is expected to hit the area in the next 24 hours.

River levels, and the flooding potential, are being monitored as temperatures rise and a thaw sets in after the recent period of severely cold weather.

The Met Office is forecasting heavy rain from the early hours of Monday night into Tuesday Morning . The weather system could bring over 25mm of rain fall in the next three hours, with overall totals likely to exceed 30 mm locally said Ian Collins

Given saturated ground there is a risk of localised flooding said a spokewoman from the Enviroment Agency.The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the latest Environment Agency, Floodline, and Flood Warnings in force.
