LIFE-SAVING MISSION FOR RESCUE 104

A critically ill patient from St Mary’s Hospital was airlifted from Seaclose Park, Newport this afternoon (Monday).

The Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 104 from Lee-on-Solent was called shortly after 4pm to transport a man to Southampton General Hospital for life-saving treatment.

Coastguard Rescue teams from Newport manned the landing site to secure a safe landing for the helicopter.

A nurse and a doctor also travelled with the critically ill man.
