CONFINED TO HOMES AFTER BUILDING SITE FIRE IN RYDE

RESIDENTS living near a building site were confined to their homes after a bonfire with unknown building materials was set alight.
People living in Park Road Ryde, were confined in their own homes after the blaze on Friday April 30
The fire service were called to the site at just after 11pm when a resident raised the alarm.
Fire-fighters advised people to stay indoors with doors and windows closed after finding what is suspected to be unknown building material alight in a bonfire
One Residents on the street told the gazette they were already worried about the way some of the material was being handled when builders cleared the area and had reported the issue to both the Health and Safety Executive and Environmental Health.
One resident living near to the blaze said: “I was in my bedroom and could smell burning, the next minute there was smoke from a bonfire coming threw my window
