  1. haha, he’s hard, where’s his handbag?

Seriously though, he needs to get a grip. I would call that threatening behaviour if he is talking about ripping someones head off.

    • The reason this man was so irratible, he was waiting for the bus as he lost he licence due to drink driving, and trying to outrun the police in his car. (Very law abiding citizen!!!!!!) I know which one I would rather have on our island roads, a scooterist any day!!!

They provided much welcome revenue to the new Waterside cafe at Ryde seafront. There was no trouble and it was a joy to see, which can be seen by the members of public who were waiting waving.

        • not denying the drink driving though are you? Everyone knows E++ie got done. Rather have a few hundred peaceful, sober scooterists on the road, then a foul mouthed drunk behind the wheel of a car! He was out of order the way he behaved.

  5. These “vermin” are just some of the tourists that keep this little island going, so for one day a year, surely they can be excused and perhaps, we can find another available route to take to avoid such traffic?

  6. Plus of course these VERMIN pay road tax, insurance, etc etc for the privelage of being shaken to death on our third worl roads and being beaten off their scooters at road junctions by impatient or incompetent 4 wheel road users! As some one else said.. the majority of those people in the short ride out, which passd by in about 10 minutes or less, were money spending tourists.. Pehaps if we had MORE tourists then the Brading wAx works wouldn’t have shut!!
The big August rally brings in more than 1 MILLION pounds in tourist revenue.. believe me,, if you pee people like this off they won’t come here, then about 70% of the tourism related jobs will goi and we will all be waiting for buses because we wont be able to afford a car,, and the council wont be able to “”"” repair “”"” the roads anyway!!
Patience is a virtue,, just a shame that bloke didn’t have any!!

    • People like him need to get a life, as Sid said these people bring much needed revenue to our island. They never cause any trouble. The buses on this island are always late anyway so what is his problem???

  7. I agree with Sid , I am not a scooterist, but am a road user & born & bred islander of 45 years, it was great to see the scooterists all spending money in Newport & Ryde on Sunday, well done to them all for making the effort to come over to our island. The chap involved looked a bit over zelous to me he should take into account that we need to encourage groups to come here, there is clearly a ‘Scooterist pound’…..whats a few mins hold up ? a small price to pay in my opinion, I hope that idiot hasn’t scared the Scooterists off & that they return next year. Well done to the organisers…keep up the good work & on behalf of real islanders I apologise!

I cannot believe that twat, who does he think he is kicking off cause his bus is held up for a few minutes, if he hadn’t been such criminal then he would still have his car and license and wouldn’t have to wait for the bus! its people like him who kill Innocent people on the road due to a total disrespect of the law!

  12. I have heard about these comments though word of mouth and decided to read the report myself. I think The Gazette have reported in favour of this guy, and I would have liked to have seen a comment in the article from the young lad who this man almost pulled off his scooter as he rode past or comments from the marshall , I think this would have then been less biased.

I do not know the gentleman in question but after reading other comments, wrongly or rightly maybe the gazette would not have portrayed him in such a favourable light, because assault and verbal aggression makes for a colourful criminal record along with alleged drink driving.

The island is world known for ’scooters’.

May I suggest to this Irishman to take a holiday August bank holiday as he may find himself up against somebody who can ‘rip his head off’ a damn sight harder then he can - honestly what a pathetic statement from a middle aged man.

Irishman man - Scooter weekend - 10,000+ scooters on the island - last weekend in August!!!!
