A man that caused armed police to attend a property in Cowes has been released without charge, ‘The Gazette’ can reveal.
Island Police were called at approximately 3.45pm on Saturday (April 9) to reports of a man wielding a knife in Northwood Park, Cowes.
Armed Response officers were deployed to an address in Alexandra Road, Cowes where they arrested a 23-year-old man after an intense 2 hour stand-off.
The man, who was arrested on suspicion of affray, was taken to Newport police station for questioning; however a lack of evidence to confirm a crime had been committed led to him being released with no further action.
