BEACH SEX COUPLE ARRESTED

A man and woman who were visiting the island have arrested and released on bail - accused of having sex on Sandown beach the Gazette can reveal.
Four Police units attended the incident on Saturday (June 12) afternoon after members of the public called police stating the couple were performing sex acts on the packed beach.
100’sof people watched in disgust as the pair carried out the gross acts in front of families and children on the Culver Parade beach.
One sunbather who didn’t wish to be named was on the beach with his wife and two young children outside a local bar and restaurant. He spoke to the Gazette. “At first it was looked very funny there was music on in the back ground coming from some local entertainment from a near by bar.
The woman didn’t really look dressed for the beach. It looked like she had been drinking. She ran down onto the sand and started dancing, she removed her top and was dancing around in a skimpy pair of knickers, everyone was laughing and thought it was very funny.
The Man who was with the woman started to get involved. He ripped off the woman’s knickers and that was when it turned sour. He was performing a sexual act on the woman it was very unpleasant to look at.
When the police turned up and arrested the pair, everybody cheered the police on as the couple were taken away.
A Spokesman for Hampshire and IW Police said” Police can confirm a 28-year-old man from Surrey and a 22-year-old woman from Northern Ireland were arrested on suspicion of gross indecency and outraging public decency on Sandown Beach at approximately 2.20pm on Saturday, June 12, 2010. Officers were called by a member of the public to Culver Parade where the two people were detained and taken into custody at Newport Police Station. They were bailed until August pending further inquiries.
