ISLE OF WIGHT UNDER 16 THUNDERS TRAVELLED TO OXFORD
The IW under 16 Thunders travelled to Oxford, knowing they needed to get back to winning ways after the defeat by Lee Valley.
It took just one minute for Aidan Doughty and Archie Bicknell to link up and score the first goal for Thunder, followed three minutes later by an unassisted goal by Doughty. The period ended with a third goal just before the whistle scored by Doughty and assisted by Daniel Bennett.
Within just a minute of the restart Alexander Trendall scored to all but put the game beyond Oxford’s reach. Half way through the period the score was increased to 5-0 when Connor Price fed a pass to Trendall who then fed Aaron Craft to score his debut goal for the under 16s, with the final goal of the period scored by Doughty.
The final period was psychologically the hardest as the boys had a strong unassailable lead and were somewhat going through the motions. The last goal was scored by Doughty to complete a 7-0 success.
The next game is on Sunday at home to league leaders Cardiff. Face off is 4.45 p.m. and entrance is free. Man of the match: Alexander Trendall. Spirit of the game: Andrew McCloskey.
